Will Burns Gains Championship Lead

Jun 3, 2013

Local driver Will Burns pictured with Fans & Blowers Managing Director James Newey, yet again made a name for himself at the home of British motorsport Silverstone last weekend with a win and a second to take him to the top of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge.

With a pivotal round ahead of Will everything was about to go against the Weston born racer when he picked up a 24hr bug the day he was to race. With a sick driver going into qualifying yet more bad luck resulted in Burns suffering from brake failure affecting him through qualifying and his weekend was put into jeopardy, with only 2 flying laps to get times in to determine his grid position, he managed 4th and 8th respectively. “It was 50/50 on whether I was well enough to take part as I needed to be fighting fit to compete in this tough championship, but minutes before the first race I plucked up enough energy to make my way to the grid”
