New Vacancy: Junior Design Engineer

Fans and Blowers are seeking a Junior Design Engineer to provide detailed and accurate drawings to customer specification with details to enable the production team to build bespoke fans to specification and a detailed BOM for which the buyer can order materials.  


Key Responsibilities: 

·       Learn to prepare detailed drawings with using the correct procedures in computer-aided design (CAD) software (Solidworks & Driveworks)

·       Prepare layout drawings and revisions

·       Liaise with internal sales to gather product and structural requirements and designs

·       Liaise with customers where appropriate to disseminate requested drawings

·       Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials

·       Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)

·       Identify potential operational/interface issues and redesign products to improve functionality

·       Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards

·       Prepare drawings for individual components as appropriate

·       Collaborate with and assist designers, production staff and engineers on projects.

·       Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision

·       Ensure all drawings are stored correctly and in line with F&B procedure

·       Ensure all activities are carried out in line with F&B QA requirements and procedure


In order to be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following skills/qualities/qualifications:


·       Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software (Solid & Drive Works) desirable

·       Familiarity with 3D modelling tools desirable

·       Good communication skills

·       Strong organisation skills essential

·       Ability to meet deadlines essential

·       Whilst a team-player must be able to use initiative and work under instruction

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay focused and organised essential
